Registered Nurse (RN)

1099 contract opportunity available

The RN performs a variety of duties to care for and comfort the sick, injured, and/or others requiring medical services. This position requires substantial specialized judgment and client care skills and evaluation. The RN supervises and motivates staff and participates in the assessment of client needs. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse of a specific unit and evaluated by the Clinical Director.

The RN will implement client care by:

  • Assuring that the psychosocial needs and the safety and physical comfort of the client are identified and met.

  • Performing nursing procedures for which his or her training has provided the necessary skills and judgment.

  • Assisting with the rehabilitation of clients according to the care plan.

  • Observing and recording all pertinent information and report to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Teaching clients, family members, and auxiliary nursing personnel proper health maintenance care.

  • Evaluating client care outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Makes rounds of assigned clients, adheres to the nursing process, implements a nursing care plan, and assists where required with client admissions and discharges.

  • Assist with pre and post operative client care, documents all patient information, performs client care within his or her scope of training and experience.

  • Records all pertinent information on the client's clinical record and keep facility informed of any changes to the client's condition.

  • Updates knowledge and skills by attending inservice programs, continuing education programs, etc.

  • Undertakes the following specialty areas only if the RN has documented skills in these areas:

    • Surgical intensive care

    • Coronary care

    • Neonatal intensive care

    • Burn units

    • Labor and delivery

    • Psychiatric unites including alcohol detox

    • Dialysis

    • Pediatrics


  • Perform routine nursing duties including but not limited to: baths, B.P, TPR, A.M. care, diet management, collecting specimens, changing dressings, client exercise, administering medications, etc.

  • Performs the following where training, skills and State Nurse Practice Act permit:

    • Administering blood and chemotherapy medications

    • Drawing blood, starting IVs, administering medications, solutions, TPN

    • Caring for tracheostomy, suctioning endotracheally

    • Supervising nursing staff

    • Changing dressings, performing other therapeutic treatments or regiments
